What You Get by Using the Intra-Company Transfer Category
You expand your business by entering North American markets.
You create your own employment in Canada and gain a Canadian work permit allowing you to live and work in Canada legally for the duration of your permit. Initial work permit for a newly established business is issued for 12 months with possible extensions in increments of 24 months
Your spouse may be eligible to obtain an open work permit for the duration of your work permit, while your minor children may get study permits enabling them to attend elementary and secondary school in Canada. Open work permit allows the holder to work for any employer in Canada with some exemptions.
If you wish to live in Canada permanently, you may be eligible to apply for the Canadian Permanent Residency within Canadian Experience Class or any other suitable immigration category without leaving Canada.
You may continue working in Canada until your PR is issued. To apply for Canadian Permanent residency within Canadian Experience Class or any other suitable category, you must submit language test results corresponding to CLB (Canadian Language Benchmark) of 7 or higher. You may transfer some key employees from your overseas business to Canada with work permits to help you develop your new business.
What we will require from you:
Evidence that you have been running a legal successful business in your country for a minimum of 12 months.
Understanding of potential business ideas in Canada based on your overseas activities.
Financial capacities to set and launch your Canadian business.
Sufficient English or French language skills to meet specific immigration requirements. While it is not always mandatory to demonstrate language proficiency to apply for a work permit it is obligatory to submit language test results if you apply for the Canadian Permanent Residency.
