We extend an invitation to international entrepreneurs to partake in our initiatives under the Start-Up Visa program in Canada.
The Start-Up Visa immigration program concluded the year 2023 with an impressive 80% increase.
Entrepreneurs who transition through the Start-Up Visa program secure permanent residency in Canada. The IRCC has earmarked substantial planned admissions for permanent residency through the Start-Up Visa. While this number has consistently been 1,000 annually in recent years, it is projected to surge to 5,000, 6,000, and 6,000 in 2024, 2025, and 2026, respectively.
Our clients have invested recently in the following Start-up Projects:
In 2023, SUV immigration brought in up to 1,027 new permanent residents to settle in Canada, reflecting a notable 78.6% increase from the 575 new permanent residents in the previous year.
Ontario and British Columbia have emerged as the most sought-after destinations for immigrant entrepreneurs under the SUV in 2023. Ontario received 495 new permanent residents, while British Columbia welcomed 210 during the first nine months of the year.
During the same period, Alberta added 20 new permanent residents through the program, maintaining consistency from the previous month, and Manitoba embraced 65 immigrant entrepreneurs through the SUV. Ontario leads in the influx of SUV entrepreneurs, while Nova Scotia experiences the lowest numbers.
About the Start-Up Visa
Applicants under the SUV program have the opportunity to initially come to Canada on a Work permit supported by their designated Canadian investor before finalizing their application for permanent residence. The entire process is estimated by the IRCC to take around 36 months.
Three categories of private-sector investors are considered under the SUV: angel investors, venture capital funds, and business incubators. Designated entities must confirm investments, and candidates must meet financial commitments to qualify.
Immigrant entrepreneurs navigating Canada's start-up ecosystem often seek guidance from business consultants and seasoned corporate immigration lawyers. These legal professionals assist in ensuring that the start-up's business concept aligns with industry-required terms and conditions.
Eligibility Requirements
The fundamental eligibility requirements for the SUV include a qualifying business, a commitment certificate, and a letter of support from a designated entity, sufficient settlement funds, and proficiency in English or French at the minimum Canadian Language Benchmark level 5.
